Carl's 80th birthday was on Mar 24, 2021. I really wanted to surprise him with a big party, but COVID happened. Christine came up with the idea of a ZOOM party. So...with Christine doing all of the work of sending out invitations, care packages and organizing the Zoom meetings we really surprised him!!!
Thanks to all of our friends, neighbors, boating friends and family (Noahs, Hatheways & Lochts) for their participation. This album contains the pictures and notes sent to Christine by everybody and pictures taken before and during the Zoom meetings
This was Part 3 of a complicated trip. We stayed on at the Devil's Fork State Park (June 3rd to June 5th) to visit with Don, Ginny, Ginny's mom, Stuart, Michael, Laicie & little Tillman. We rented a pontoon boat for the day. We went to see the waterfalls and swim in Lake Jocassee. They all stayed for dinner. Michael, Laicie & Tillman spent the night and after hiking to Twin Falls, left to join Laicie's parents for a week at the beach. Don, Ginny & Stuart came for lunch and then left to go to a wedding. We stayed one more day at Devil's Fork State Park to rest.

Then we drove back to Chattanooga, Tenn for our flight home.
We went to Hamburg, Germany to visit with Michael, Nancy and new baby Ethan. We were gone from home for 2 months (June 27th - Aug 25th).

It was a wonderful day!!!
On our summer trip across country in our new Roamer, we stopped at Salem, South Carolina to see Don, Ginny, Mike and Stu. We saw their new home and went out on their boat all three days we were there. Mike & Stu took us for a tour of Clemson (Mike is in his second year) and we all went to historic Greenville. We had a great time getting caught up.
On our summer trip across country in our new Roamer, we stopped at Warne, North Carolina to see Dana and Marcia. We had a great time visiting. Dana and Marcia have bought a lot and are building--first a shop, then a house. Carl, Dana and I went whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River.
We went to Rooster Poot and Siloam Springs in Arkansas for about 5 days, to visit the Noahs. We saw Uncle Dutch and Lula Mae, Trish and Brad, Connie and Richard, Lisa and Terry. We saw Uncle Bill, Uncle Chesley and Imogene, Charlene and Leroy.
We went to Kauai for 10 days for our honeymoon. Without going into a lot of details, I'll just say that it was all that a honeymoon should be!!
It was the first time to Hawaii for both of us. We selected Kauai, the "Garden Isle", because of the rain forests, majestic cliffs, jagged peaks, emerald valleys, palm trees, rainbows and the fantastic beaches. We had a fantastic time exploring this beautiful island by land, by sea and by air.
