Summary: We went boating on Lake Jocassee.

Friday, June 3rd: We got up and had coffee and breakfast. Then we drove the short distance to Eclectic Sun to meet Michael, Laicie & Tillman and Don, GinnyB & Stuart for the start of Part 3 of our trip. Everybody got there about the same time. We were pleasantly surprised that Ginny's mom came, too!! We got to meet Tillman briefly and then we got the new group all signed in and the pontoon boat loaded up ($325). Gary drove us from the parking lot to the boat ramp and put us in the water!! The weather as perfect as it could be. It was warm and sunny, just a slight breeze and no crowds!!

When we were exploring the Lake Jocassee waterfalls with Dana earlier, we found the Wright Creek waterfall the best, so we headed for it first. Carl and Don missed it and we found another unknown waterfall. We spent some time here and then went to find the Wright Creek waterfall. We'd gone right by it. We anchored the boat and several of us went swimming. The water was cool, colder directly under the waterfall. We got some fun pictures!

Then we continued around Lake Jocassee and found the Laurel Creek waterfall again. As Carl was maneuvering the boat as close as he could get, we saw a turtle!! We didn't get a good picture because he dove under too fast. Tillman had a quick lunch. Stuart had quite a challenge feeding him!!

When we were at the Laurel Creek waterfall with Dana, we couldn't take the boat around into the grotto to see where the water fell into the lake. This time, we anchored the boat and went swimming back into the grotto to see the whole waterfall!! It was awesome!! We all went swimming a little bit here, even Tillman.

Then because nobody else around, we broke out the food and had lunch. Just as we finished, another boat came by, so we left. We went exploring some more and drove up one of the narrower channels. There was beautiful scenery. We stopped once or twice to swim a little. Tillman even got a chance to drive the boat. LOL! We got back to the dock about 3:30pm. What a great day!!

Ginny's mom had other plans, but everybody else came back to the villa with us. We had some snacks and then dinner. Don, Ginny and Stuart left to go back to Salem, but Michael, Laicie and Tillman stayed with us for the night. We have a great three-bedroom villa. Dana had used one bedroom, so Michael & Laicie got to use the other bedroom. It worked out perfect!!

We went to bed early. We had plans to meet with Don, Ginny and Stuart the next day for a little bit before they had to go to the wedding.
