Journal Entries for 2003-08 Alaska
Summary: We flew to Juneau, a sunny 83 deg.

Carl and I are having a GREAT time!!! We've been here several days now and I haven't been writing my "journal". Since the hotel has e-mail, we thought that writing this as e-mail would serve 2 purposes, both to document our trip for ourselves and share it with you. You can read as much or as little of this as you want or have the time for.

Thurs, Aug 7th: We were picked up at the house at 7:15 a.m. by our "limo", a Lincoln Town Car. Our flight was GREAT (uneventful) and we got into Juneau, Alaska about 3:00 local time (lost 1 hour). We were picked up by the hotel van service. After getting settled in the hotel, we went for a walk. The weather was sunny and warm (83 degrees). I put on shorts!! I've always thought of Alaska as cold, but it was really warm. What beautiful country and always the Mendenhall Glacier in the background. We'll check it out later. We took some pictures of the local skateboard arena. They aren't as good as Californians! We ate a quick bite and went to bed early in preparation for the next day.
